A pole only works if the stem actually attaches. Moist moss helps aerial roots, but the pot still has to drain.
Tie the stem, not the petiole. The attachment point is the node, where aerial roots emerge.
Sodden moss dumps water into the mix and causes rot. Mist the pole; do not soak it.
Wood and coco work too. What matters is a stable face and a plant you are not rotating every week.
